Boë Gin

Background

Boë Gin takes its name from Franz de le Boe. Legend has it when Professor Franz was in search of a medicinal tonic he mixed neutral spirit with juniper berries and created gin. The award winning Boë Gin is distilled at Boë’s premises in the village of Throsk, near Stirling.

Brief

To create designs for the launch of Boë’s new range extension – a flavoured gin and two new flavoured liqueurs. The target audience for this new range of products will be aimed primarily at the cocktail and gifting market. The new bottles should have real shelf stand out on both a busy back-lit cocktail bar in addition to a crowded supermarket shelf.

Solution

Allowing the vibrant colours of the new products to act as the background for bold, bright graphic illustrations, screenprinted directly onto the new bottle’s surface. Fruit and floral illustrations wrap around the bottles, encircling the recognisable Boë logo.

This was the last job I completed whilst working as a Senior Designer at Tayburn before leaving in 2016 to work as a freelance designer and illustrator, setting up CTD Studio in 2017.
